Gatton Hawks defended their premiership by defeating Newtown 42-12 after it was 12-12 at half time in the Towoomba Sports Club Womens 2022 Grand Final.

Newtown were excellent in the first half and really challenged the Premiers. Rikki-Lee Boney grabbed two tries for the Bluebags. 
In the second half Hatton got into gear with Courtney-Lee Nolan and Courtney Robinson scoring five tries between them. Nolan was outstanding winning the player of the match and she replicated her three try effort in last years Grand Final and stamped herself in history. 

Gatton scored five unanswered second half tries and there was not a bad player in their side. Tara Reinke and Ash Nolan laid the foundation up front. 
 Paige Edwards, Rosie Parsons, Tegan Gibbs and Kiara Taylor were all very good for Newtown and showed Newtown is in good hands, But it was Gatton’s Day in an undefeated season and congratulations to the coach Don Haak and his club for an outstanding couple of seasons.
